Title: Software Engineer(C/C++, Streaming Media) (1)

Description
We are seeking exceptional full-time engineers to join our fast expanding team in Polycom Beijing. The ideal candidate must be passionate about building high quality and high performance video conferencing applications/products. The right candidate is a highly motivated individual who is able to work in self-motivated teams that can take a product from conception through delivery. You will be part of the RSS (Recording and Streaming Server) team and be responsible for streaming feature development and maintenance.
Responsibilities
1. Fully understand the requirements from customers and product managers
2. Maintain existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
3. Actively participate in product design and discussions
4. Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project
5. Create innovative solutions for media streaming feature development
6. Streaming feature sustaining for legacy products
Qualifications
1.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent major
2.
4+ years experience using C/C++
3.
Streaming Media development experience is a must
4.
Knowledge of WMV/ASF format is a strong plus
5.
Knowledge of RTP/RTCP/RTSP is a strong plus
6.
Familiar with various Audio/Video codec, such as H.263, H.264, G.7xx series
7.
Excellent problem solving ability
8.
In-depth knowledge on Object Oriented design methodology
10. Self-motivated and good team player
11. Willing to take ownership and make commitment
12. Good English skills, both in written and oral
13. Good communication and interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate must be passionate about building high quality and high performance multi-media applications. The right candidate is a highly motivated individual who is able to work in self-motivated teams that can take a product from conception through delivery. You will do research, design and develop software systems to meet customers’ requirements. You will be part of the RSS (Recording and Streaming Server) team and be responsible for communication protocol development and maintenance.
Responsibilities
1. Fully understand the requirements from customers and product managers
2. Maintain existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
3. Actively participate in product design and discussions
4. Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project
5. H.323/SIP protocol development and bug fixing.
6. Firewall traversal development
Qualifications
1.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent major
2.
4+ years experience using C/C++
3.
Programming under Linux environment is a must
4.
H.323/SIP development experience is a must
5.
Firewall traversal development experience is a strong plus
6.
Knowledge of Linux kernel is a strong plus
7.
Good at debugging complex signaling/networking issues
8.
Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, Analysis, and Programming
9.
Self-motivated and good team player
10.
Willing to take ownership and make commitment
11.
Good English skills, both in written and oral
12.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
